Hi, I’m Emma.
26, American, solo traveler. I’ve been to 43 countries and spent the last two years eating my way through Asia on a budget that would make most travel bloggers nervous.
I started Emma Roams because I kept finding the same problem: travel advice that’s either too vague to be useful or written by someone who clearly stayed at a resort and called it “local experience.”
Everything on this site comes from trips I actually took, mistakes I actually made, and hotels I actually slept in. If I wouldn’t book it again, I won’t recommend it.
A few things about me
- 43 countries and counting
- Usually traveling solo
- Budget-conscious but not miserable about it
- Will always choose the place with the longest local queue
- Agoda loyalist for Asia stays
- Currently: Japan → Southeast Asia
What this blog is actually for
Honest hotel reviews with real prices. Neighborhood guides from someone who walked them. Mistakes I made so you don’t have to. No hidden gem clichés. No “must-visit” anything.
Just practical travel writing from someone who’s been there recently and has opinions about it.
